Team Fundraising Policy

Purpose of this document

This document comes into effect from August 2023 and the purpose of this document is to provide guidance to team managers / coaches on what individual team fundraising efforts are approved by the Executive Committee. It is not the intention of the Executive Committee to be restrictive towards individual team fundraising, but it is important that the efforts of teams do not clash with the fundraising efforts of the club. We need a coherent and planned approach to all fundraising in the club.

Background

The Committee will have a list of events planned for each year to help meet the fundraising target for the club. These events are likely to include a quiz night, raffles at Easter and Christmas (Including FAI Draw) and raffles for tickets around international match days, Mini World cup and Family fun day and club shop and BBQ at other significant club days, etc. It is vitally important that these events are supported by the entire club – for the benefit of the whole club.

Permitted Fundraising

We encourage all coaches to raise interest in sponsoring their team with parents on the team. When a parent or a company a parent works for offers to sponsor a team, the coach can decide how best the money should be spent on the team. Any club team that needs to raise funds, for a trip or for team wear for the team, needs to abide by this policy and general club rules – for the good of the club. The following will be permitted fundraising efforts – (subject to the rules below) at:

  • Sponsored Walks or other Sponsored activities

  • Outside sponsorship from parents and companies

  • Other events such as raffles or quizzes that are pre-approved.

 Rules

  • All sponsorship money received must be notified to club via club treasurer brfctreas@gmail.com

  • Where possible sponsorship should be paid directly into the club account or via payment link on Clubzap

  • Events such as raffles and quizzes for team sponsorship must be pre-approved by Executive committees to avoid a clash with other planned events. Approval can be requested via club treasurer brfctreas@gmail.com

  • The club will share posters of planned events such as quizzes on social media and will also share pictures and write ups of fundraising events after the event. However only Club raffles will be advertised by social media to ensure team raffles don’t compromise clubs’ ability to raise funds through central whole club raffles and not to bombard members with requests to buy tickets too often.

  • Outside Sponsorship must not compromise the Club’s ability to raise funds from local companies and so any approaches to potential sponsors must be agreed with Executive Committee, prior to any approach. Requests can be sent by email to brfctreas@gmail.com

  • Any additional fundraising efforts must be pre-approved by the Executive Committees.

 Reporting

A summary of the income and expenditure for any fundraising activities must be sent to the executive committee, via the club treasurer brfctreas@gmail.com
